Turn a sound into a pluck
A pluck starts at once and dies away while the key is still down — on set attack 0, a short decay and no sustain, then let the filter envelope close the tone as the note fades.
A pluck cuts through a mix because its energy sits at the start of the note. The amp envelope makes the level drop away and the filter envelope makes the tone drop with it, which is what makes it sound plucked rather than merely short. With sustain at 0 nothing lingers, so fast sequences and arpeggios stay clean. Longer decays drift towards bells and keys; a touch of FX II on gives the tail back without blurring the attack.

Make the notes on T3 pluck
before you start instrument mode
- 1 the amp envelope; click an encoder if the filter envelope is in front
- 2 attack 0
- 3 decay around 25, between the factory plucks' 20 and 30
- 4 sustain 0
- 5 release around 65, a short tail like the factory plucks'
Let the filter close with every pluck
- 1 the filter envelope
- 2 filter decay around 15, dielectric's snap
- 3 filter sustain 0
- 4 press it again if the page shows off
- 5 cutoff around 30
- 6 resonance around 30
- 7 envelope amount 48, as dielectric

A new project's two plucks show the shape in numbers. Beach bum on (epiano) and dielectric on (hardsync) start at attack 0, decay by 20 and 30 and release at 69 and 60; dielectric closes its ladder filter with an envelope amount of 48 and a filter decay of 14.
